notes on my tone & style
tone i’m going for: evocative, raw, un-polished, stream of consciousness, humility, observant and introspective. contemplative. brooding, yearning
style: impressionistic and ambiguous, a bit fragmentary. atmospheric. meant to capture a flicker of an emotion, not the whole thing in detail. layered meaning.
i include a lot of line breaks to make the lines feel more like jagged thoughts, or the words you choke out between sobs. they are meant to be things that just fall out without being refined first.
